IN PERSON WORKSHOP

Date: April 8, 2026

Instructor: Eva Gaultney

Workshop Description: Left a section or a group of threads out of your warp? Need to fix a broken warp thread? Want some extra weaving tips to add to your repertoire? Compiled in this workshop are questions and situations I have encountered while working at a weaving school. Some are problems that pop up every once in a while, others are frequently asked questions, along with extra tips I’ve picked up over time. This workshop will include live demonstrations of some tips on a table loom while also featuring a PowerPoint presentation with pictures and videos.

Attendee Limit: 15

Instructor Bio: Eva started her weaving journey at Berea College. In her labor position as a production weaver she wove placemats, rag rugs, and rep weave; she also had access to different looms, tools, and weaving techniques. With her interest piqued, she spent much of her free time digging deeper into all aspects of weaving. After graduating from Berea, she accepted a position as an Environmental Educator at Pine Mountain Settlement School. There she discovered they had a loom room packed with 20+ looms of various makes and styles. She learned a lot about loom mechanics from working on and maintaining those looms. Eva attended Vavstuga's Immersion program in 2019, returning to apprentice and join the teaching staff.
