IN PERSON WORKSHOP

Date: April 14, 2027

Instructor: Manon Pelletier

Workshop Description:

This hands-on sewing workshop is for weavers who desire to turn their handwovens into one-of-a-kind garments.  One aspect of a well-constructed garment is finishing techniques for seams.  Participants will receive kits for a fee containing handwoven samples, sewing notions, and instructions for various seam treatments.

A sewing machine in good working order is required for this workshop. The instructor will demonstrate each seam treatment before participants assemble their own at the workshop as time permits or at home. From this workshop, participants will gain confidence in cutting and sewing handwoven cloth for the purpose of garment construction or home décor.

Students are requested to bring to class:

Portable sewing machine in good working order

Extension Cord

Sewing supplies (scissors, pins, etc)

If you have not used your machine in some time, please test and familiarize yourself prior to the workshop.

Materials/Handouts Fee: $25.00

Attendee Limit: 10
