IN PERSON WORKSHOP
Date: March 10, 2027
Instructor: Penny Lacroix
Workshop Description:
This fun class is for all who love color and want to understand it more or be more deliberate about color choices. It utilizes Gist Yarn’s Palette Scout color deck. We’ll start out with some basic color theory, play with some guided palette development, and work into some creative challenges. Color is a complex subject that people can devote a lifetime to exploring. This class is designed to help intuitive colorists as well as designers who lack confidence in their own color sense.
Students are requested to bring to class:
Palette Scout Pack,
A picture (printed photo or in a book/magazine) that you like
Paint chips of your favorite color and your least favorite color (optional)
A color wheel if you have one
People need to have a Zollie Palette Scout. It can be purchased through YLS or online (through Zollie or Amazon). I can arrange for them to be available on the morning of the class, but I need to know in advance how many are needed. Cost will be $30 or the current retail price of the pack. If desired, students may buddy up and share one with a friend who is also taking the class, but this is not recommended.
Materials/Handouts Fee: $4.00
Attendee Limit: 15
