Workshop Description: In an island culture with limited available materials, resourcefulness counts! Shifu, Japanese paper cloth is a perfect example of such invention. After a brief overview of traditional Japanese textile materials and techniques, we will be folding, cutting, and "spinning" kozo/mulberry bark paper to make our own kami-ito paper thread suitable as weft.


Supplies:  Small diameter rotary cutter or X-acto knife; small cutting mat, metal ruler; drop spindle (preferred) or spinning wheel.

    Workshops:  If you withdraw one month or more prior to the workshop you will receive a refund, less our processing costs.  If you withdraw between one month and two weeks prior to the workshop you will receive a voucher for another class.  Workshop fees will not be refunded if you withdraw within two weeks of the workshop date.

    Books and Monographs:  We do not accept returns on books or monographs.

    Dues:  Dues and Fees will not be refunded.
