Virginia West - March 18, 2021

Her recent passing on March 18, 2021 reminds us all what a wonderful life she led as a creative and dedicated individual.

She was an Internationally known weaver, teacher and author. A former faculty member for 13 years of the Maryland Institute College of Art, she created the schools’ Fiber department and went on to serve as the president of the Baltimore Weavers Guild and president of the Maryland Craft Council. She wrote five books on weaving; her most famous book, “Finishing Touches for the Handweaver”, was published over many editions.
