Annual dues are payable each June to the Membership Committee Chairperson. Dues received on or after March 1, cover membership through June of the following year. As of February 12, 1997, there are several categories of Guild membership.

Regular $35/year

Regular membership is full membership in the Guild with all rights and privileges that go with it. This includes the quarterly bulletin with woven sample and the yearbook with your personal listing, the right to take workshops, attend meetings, rent looms, check out books from the library, participate in the annual Guild show and sale, and any other programs and special events that may be sponsored by the Guild from time to time.

Senior/Student $20/year

Senior membership is a reduced-cost full membership available to anyone over the age of 70.

Student membership is a reduced-cost full membership available to full-time students under the age of 25. Please include a photocopy of your student ID when applying for a student membership.

Bulletin Only $20/year

Bulletin Only membership is a limited membership available only to members who live outside of the six New England states (CT, MA, NH, ME, RI, VT) and New York. As a Bulletin Only member you receive the quarterly bulletin with woven sample and the yearbook with your personal listing. Workshop attendance and ratings participation are not available with this membership, but we welcome Bulletin Only members to meetings when in they are in area.

Sustaining Memberships  $100

One morning workshop (up to 3 days) of your choice or a silver Guild pin (one time only).

Life Memberships $1000

Life members receive a silver Guild pin and lifetime regular membership in the Guild for a one-time fee.

Commission Weavers and Teachers

Members who are professional weavers may elect to be listed as such in the yearbook and on the Guild web page (starting the summer of 1997). These listings carry an additional fee of:

  • listing as commission weaver $10/year
  • listing as teacher $10/year

Dues grants are available. Please contact the chair of the scholarship committee for more information.

No payments of any kind to The Weavers' Guild of Boston are tax deductible. We are in the process of applying for charitable status as defined by the IRS. However, even after we are a recognized charitable institution, regular membership dues, workshop dues, monograph purchases and all other payments for which you receive value in return are deductible only to the extent that the contribution exceeds the value received.
